On this Day

Your journey continues as you head toward the high alpine lake of Iskanderkul, which sits at an elevation of 2,255 meters in the Fann Mountains.  The spectacular journey across the Anzob Pass, at 3,372 meters, provides breathtaking panoramic views of the rocky terrain.  Upon arrival, you can take a peaceful stroll along the lake's immaculate shoreline and a short trip to a neighboring waterfall.  This region is rich in rivers, lakes, and glaciers, demonstrating Tajikistan's abundance of natural water resources.  The day ends with leisure and an overnight stay at a lovely guesthouse near the lake.

On this Day

Today's excursion takes you deeper into the Fann Mountains, toward the legendary Seven Lakes, which are around 60 kilometers south of Panjakent.  As you travel through the mountain gorge, each lake exposes a unique hue and height, resulting in a captivating succession of colors and reflections.  Along the way, you'll meet pleasant locals and see the simplicity of their rural living.  After seeing the lakes and taking short excursions through the stunning scenery, you'll spend the night in a warm and inviting local homestay.

On this Day

The road then goes to the medieval city of Panjakent, which is wonderfully situated in the Zeravshan River Valley.  Panjakent, also known as "Central Asia's Pompeii," dates from the 5th to 8th centuries and was once an important cultural and craft center of the Sogdian civilization.  You will visit the Panjakent Museum, tour the interesting ruins of Old Panjakent, and stroll through the bustling local bazaar.  Dinner includes a regional dish, Panjakent's famous traditional plov.  The day concludes with an overnight stay at a comfortable hotel in the city.

On this Day

On your way to Khujand, you'll cross the Shahriston Pass, which rises to 3,378 meters.  En route, a visit in Istravshan provides insight into one of Central Asia's oldest centers of trade and handicraft, dating back to the 6th century BC.  You will see Mugtepa, the fifteenth-century Kuk Gumbaz Mosque, and the local bazaar, which is packed with vibrant colors and fragrances.  The visit will immerse you in the architectural and cultural beauty of historic fortifications, mosques, and mausoleums.  The evening brings you to Khujand for dinner and relaxation at your hotel.

On this Day

The day is dedicated to exploring Khujand, Tajikistan's second-largest city.  Your sightseeing itinerary will include the Museum of Archaeology and Fortification, as well as the Shaikh Muslihiddin Mosque, a historical and spiritual monument.  Across from it is the famous Panjshanbe Bazaar, one of Tajikistan's oldest and largest markets, which is busy with local sellers and commodities.  Later, you'll visit the Qairoqum water reservoir, also known as the "Tajik Sea," which was established in 1968 alongside its hydropower station and represents people's goodwill.  The evening is spent enjoying dinner and a relaxing night in Khujand.

On this Day

The final phase of your journey leads you back to Dushanbe via the picturesque Shahriston and Anzob passes, including the Isticlol Tunnel.  The mountain routes offer ideal possibilities for photo breaks and admiration of Tajikistan's magnificent beauty.  Back in Dushanbe, you can reflect on your memorable experiences before boarding your aircraft back to Pakistan, capping off your seven-day tour of Tajikistan's cultural treasures and natural beauties.
