On this Day

An early morning scenic flight from Islamabad to Skardu provides stunning aerial views of the Himalayan and Karakoram peaks, including sightings of Nanga Parbat. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel and spend the day adjusting to the altitude. You might explore local bazaars or relax by the Indus River to allow your body to acclimate gradually before starting the trekking portion.

On this Day

After breakfast, you'll take a long but spectacular trip to Arandu, traveling through rocky mountains and traditional Balti communities. The route takes meandering mountain roads alongside rivers and valleys, offering a glimpse into local life. When you arrive in Arandu, you will meet the porters and finalize the trekking plans. The evening is spent camping or in a guesthouse, enjoying the tranquil surroundings before beginning your hike.

The walk begins with a slow ascent from Arandu to Remendok, along narrow routes through cultivated fields and steep terrain. As you proceed, the terrain grows more distant and spectacular, with towering peaks all around you. The course includes moderate hills and river crossings, providing a thorough introduction to wilderness walking. When you arrive in Remendok, you will pitch up camp in a tranquil alpine environment, enjoying the peace and preparing for the next day's adventure.

Today's journey takes you deeper into the mountains, towards the Goropha La Base Camp. The trail gradually grows steeper and more difficult, passing through glacier streams and high-altitude meadows. The surrounding view becomes more stunning, with snowcapped peaks dominating the horizon. When you arrive at base camp, you will recover and acclimatize while admiring the magnificent surroundings. Preparations are made for the arduous pass crossing the next day, ensuring that everyone is prepared.

An early start is required as you rise to Goropha La Pass at 4,925 meters. The ascent is difficult, with steep slopes and even snow-covered areas that require consistent pacing and commitment. Reaching the summit rewards you with stunning panoramic views of the surrounding peaks and glaciers. After spending time at the summit, you pitch up camp along the pass to enjoy the raw beauty and solitude of high-altitude wilderness.

After daylight at the pass, you begin a cautious descent to Rama Camp. The trail begins with steep and rocky sections before softening into easier terrain. As you descend, the landscape progressively changes from cold alpine to verdant valleys. The excursion provides breathtaking vistas and opportunities to see unusual high-altitude vegetation. You spend the night at Rama Camp, reflecting on your successful passage of Goropha La.

On this Day

Today's journey continues downhill into Astak Nala, following magnificent routes through streams and lush meadows. The journey is less strenuous than on previous days, allowing you to fully enjoy the valley's magnificence. You may come upon local shepherds and wildlife along the road. When you get to Astak Nala, you pitch your tent beside the water and spend the evening enjoying nature and celebrating the end of your walk.

The return journey to Skardu begins on the jeepable road at Astak Nala. The drive through stunning valleys and rural settlements provides a final glimpse of the region's harsh scenery. When you arrive in Skardu, check into your accommodation and get some much-needed rest. After the challenging trek, spend the evening browsing local markets or simply relaxing.

On this Day

This day is dedicated to discovering the cultural and natural treasures of Skardu. You can explore Shangrila Resort, Upper Kachura Lake, and the historical Skardu Fort. The casual schedule lets you unwind, sample local food, and reflect on your hiking adventure. 

On this Day

You will fly back from Skardu to Islamabad, enjoying beautiful aerial views of the northern mountain ranges. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel and given free time to shop or explore. This final evening in Islamabad allows you to unwind and reflect on your experience while preparing for your international departure.

On this Day

After breakfast, you will be taken to the airport for your international trip home. As your journey comes to an end, you will bring with you wonderful memories of the Goropha La Pass walk, including its beautiful scenery and cultural experiences. The adventure leaves a lasting imprint, indicating a successful and enjoyable exploration of one of Pakistan's most remote and picturesque trekking paths.

 

Why Register Early?

1. Early Bird Discount: The given prices for the holiday are limited-time discount offers and are subject to change. Service providers including (but not limited) to airlines and hotels increase prices in peak-season. Early reservations cost less than peak-season. 

2. Limited Flight Seats: Domestic flight seats to the Karakorams and Himalayas are sold out way ahead of time because there are only two daily flights during peak season. Among other things, the deposit is used to book domestic flights for you in advance.

3. Pay Balance after arrival in Pakistan: In these unusual times, we appreciate that paying the final balance for your trip may cause concern. Our policy is to only receive your final balance once you arrive in Pakistan. The only payment before arrival is the deposit.

4. Deposit valid for 3 years: We understand the uncertainty surrounding the pandemic (Covid-19). As part of our relaxed booking conditions following Covid-19, deposits are valid for 2 years. 

6. Pay Minimum Deposit: The deposits for the holiday are also early-bird discounts and automatically change accordingly:

  • 1st October: USD 190
  • 1st November: USD 290
  • 1st January: USD 350
  • 15th February: USD 400
  • 1st March: USD 450
  • 1st May: USD 490

Refund Policy for All

Deposit: Once paid, the deposit is non-refundable (but valid for 2 years) as it will be spent on making in-country arrangements. 

Balance: Pay the balance only after arrival in Pakistan on the first day. Payment guidelines will be shared timely.

Currency

All international travelers can pay in US Dollars (USD) or equivalent in Euros (EUR) or Pound Sterling (GBP). Pakistani travelers are charged the equivalent in Pakistani Rupees (PKR).

Single Supplement

Separate hotel rooms (single supplement) will cost an additional USD 290. This includes all hotel nights. This payment should be made with the balance upon arrival.

Separate tents (single tent) will cost an additional USD 180. This includes the cost of additional porterage. This payment should also be made with the balance in Pakistan.
