You will pass through the magnificent Lowari Tunnel on your way to Chitral. Finally, if arrive in Chitral Valley, you may immerse yourself in its rich cultural legacy and breathtaking scenery. The estimated travel time from Islamabad to Chitral is around 9 to 10 hours. Explore Chitral's attractions, including the Shahi Mosque, Shahi Qila, the Polo Ground, Governor Cottage, and the Chitral Museum.

Traveling from Chitral to Bumburet Valley takes roughly 3 hours over the scenic Chitral-Mastuj Road. This picturesque path offers amazing vistas and takes you through gorgeous countryside. When you arrive at Bumburet, you will be able to visit the enchanting Kalash Valley, which is home to the distinctive Kalash people. Don't pass up the opportunity to immerse yourself in the rich culture and traditions of this intriguing town.

Bumburet, set in the picturesque Kalasha Valleys, entices visitors with its distinct culture and stunning scenery. This valley, home to the Kalash people, is well-known for its vivid festivals, traditional music, and bright handicrafts.

After touring Bumburet and taking in its scenic splendor, you may go on an enriching trek to Batrik.  Walking from Bumburet to Batrik takes you through beautiful meadows, attractive towns, and tranquil waterways. The hike provides glimpses of local life and breathtaking mountain vistas, making for a lovely retreat into nature's embrace.

Batrik, located in the center of the valley, is a tiny community recognized for its natural beauty and welcoming atmosphere. You may rest and unwind in the calm surroundings while taking in the sights and sounds of this wonderful location.

Climb the valley behind Batrik (2040m) via a steep but well-defined trail. Pass through a Cedar and Chilghoza pine forest, where substantial logging and milling are visible. Alternatively, you can walk from Krakal to Batrik in two hours over the gentler and larger donkey track that runs east and north.

Proceed 2.5 kilometres from Batrik up gentle switchbacks on a wide track for 45 minutes to an hour to Donson Pass (2970m). Donson Pass is crowned with massive, majestic cedars that are at least 1,000 years old. To the east is Gorasin, a rocky pyramid, and to the west is a forested mountain. To the north, goats and cattle graze on the grassy slopes. The Rumbur valley is obscured by the Kundyak An ridge, but Acholgah Gol is visible beneath. To the north, Tirich Mir and Noshaq stand out.

Descend through flower-filled meadows and then down a spur for 30 minutes, following a footpath. Some cedar trunks in this area are 3m in diameter. A tiny gully can be seen just west of the Spur. Cross the gully to the true left. Walk for five to ten minutes through the forest to Owzurie (2460m), a wooden shelter. Continue downwards for 45 minutes, crossing a tiny creek and taking a good route high above the Donson Gol. Pass beneath Gogalog, a trail point and westward bend (2220 metres).

Donson Gol encounters Acholgah Gol near a hot spring below. Ghariet Peak dominates the east-facing panorama of the valley. Looking south along the Donson Gol, the entire valley is forested, and the way up to the pass can be seen, with Gorasin rising to the east. Continue north until you see two large cedars just around the bend in the road. Drop down to the fields below or follow the route for 15 minutes to Shigala settlement. Camp in any of the three communities of Passuwala, Shigala, or Gomenah (1980m), located 3.5 kilometres below the pass. Acholgah Gol is traversed by a number of wooden and stone footbridges.

Three miles above the border police checkpoint, a road connects the Acholgah Gol to the lower Rumbur Gol. The road is only accessible when the water level is low, and it is often impassable from May to July. Lachorsin Peak rises east of Gomenah. Pushak (snow leopard hill) is well-known in Kalashamun because of the snow leopards that are known to descend and raid the local livestock. A mineral water spring is located two hours up Acholgah Gol.

After crossing the Acholgah Gol, go 30 minutes north to the road's end, passing through an impressive cedar forest (2460m). Ascend the west slope or the lonely hillside, both of which cross the Kundyak An close together. Climb the barren mountainside, also known as Kundyak, on goat routes for 15 to 30 minutes to a small wooden shelter (2670 metres). Tree notches are carved to attract bees to form colonies, allowing Kalasha to harvest honey.

Continue for 1 to 2 hours along a 10-meter-wide logging scar. This stretch finally narrows into a gully with deadwood strewn about. The trail quickly vanishes, and the densely forested approach to the pass ascends to the right of the gully. In May and June, the woods floor yields Qutsi or morel mushrooms, followed by wild strawberries. Kundyak An (2855 metres) is highly forested and cannot be seen from below. Trees block views to the north from the pass. The panoramic views south to the Donson Pass, on the other hand, are breathtaking. This 1.25-kilometer walk takes you through an old-growth forest whose trees range in age from 300 to 1000 years.

There is no obvious track north of the Kundyak An until you reach the first town below in 1 to 2 hours. As the overgrown track emerges and fades, a local buddy who knows the way down is essential. The trail continues to the right, heading north-northeast for an hour before dropping sharply to a Kalasha residence and barley field at Narajau (2225m), 2 kilometres below the peak. Traghdhur, a Muslim and Gujar settlement, is situated across the valley. The Kalasha village of Ravelik is situated high above the confluence of this side stream with Rumbur Gol. Shekhanandeh's lands are far north.

The footbridge across the brook below Narajau is a short drop. Cross the first of eight footbridges to the genuine left bank (the number of footbridges changes with the water level). The genuine right bank is flanked by sheer rocks, and the creek flows into a gorge. After 30 minutes and several river crossings, you will reach Rumbur Gol (2070m). The confluence offers views west along the Gangalwat Gol to the Afghan border. Cross the Rumbur Gol on a sturdy plank footbridge to reach the road that runs alongside the river.

From Rumbur Gol to Rumbur Valley, the scenery changes from the tranquility of the river gorge to the lush greenery of the valley. Trekking along this trail leads to a steady slope with views of the surrounding mountains and meadows. The Rumbur Valley is a natural wonderland, complete with terraced fields, fruit orchards, and traditional cottages. As you travel around the valley, you'll see pleasant residents going about their everyday lives, which adds to the genuineness of the experience. This hike allows you to immerse yourself in the charm of rural life in the Kalasha valley, as well as experience the region's stunning surroundings.
