Take a local flight to Mandalay, Myanmar's cultural heart.  Upon arrival, proceed to the breathtaking Dee Doke Waterfall, where turquoise pools stream through lush surroundings, providing a refreshing plunge or a quiet time of introspection.  On your journey back to Mandalay, visit the Shwe Saryan Pagoda, an exquisite location encircled by gilded shrines and tranquil Buddha figures.  Return to Mandalay for an overnight stay, taking in the spiritual and natural grandeur of this region.

Discover Mandalay's riches by visiting the Mahamuni Pagoda, an important Buddhist pilgrimage site dating back to the 18th century.  Continue to local workshops to see artists create exquisite gold leaf, marble sculptures, and intricate wood carvings.  Visit the Golden Palace Monastery, noted for its superb teak architecture, followed by the Kuthodaw Pagoda, which houses the world's largest book engraved on 729 marble slabs.  Later, take a relaxing boat journey to Amarapura's ageless U Bein Bridge, the world's longest teak bridge, to observe its reflection over the serene waters.  In the evening, travel to Inle Lake and spend the night.
