Transfer to the hotel to drop off your bags before embarking on a guided walking tour of Khiva's historical center, Ichan Kala, Central Asia's largest open-air museum. Visit Ata-Darvaza and Kunya-Ark, Muhammad Rahim Khan and Muhammad Aminhan Madrassahs, Kalta Minor, Tash Hauli Palace, Caravanserai and Tim Allakulihan, Seyd Allaudin's Mausoleum, Islam-Khoja Madrassah and Minaret, and Jami Mosque with its minaret. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Explore the Bibi Khanim Mosque, historically one of the largest in Islam, as well as the Shahi Zinda Necropolis, which features ornate mausoleums. Visit the Mausoleum of Khoji Doniyor, also known as Saint Daniel, who is venerated as a patron saint and where tourists seek graces under the almond tree and holy spring. Continue to the Meros paper plant in Konigil village to see how traditional silk paper making processes have been preserved over decades. Following border formalities, meet your Tajik guide and driver and go to Penjikent, an old Sogdian city on the Zeravshan River.
