Itinerary – Dari La Pass Trek – 10 days
The itinerary for the trek is listed below.
Day 02: Fly to Skardu
On this Day
Take a scenic flight from Islamabad to Skardu for stunning aerial views of the Himalayan and Karakoram peaks, including a sight of Nanga Parbat on a clear day. Upon arrival, transfer to your accommodation and spend the day adjusting to the altitude. The rest of the day is free for relaxation or a gentle walk along the Indus River to help your body acclimate before the trip begins.
Day 03: Drive to Shigarthang Village
On this Day
After breakfast, take a scenic drive to Shigarthang, the starting site for your walk. The path winds through rocky valleys, old Balti communities, and fertile spots along the Indus River. Upon arrival, meet your trekking crew and porters and prepare your kit for the trek ahead. Spend the evening talking with locals and enjoying the peaceful surroundings as you emotionally and physically prepare for the impending journey.
Day 04: Trek to Dari La Pass
On this Day
Begin your climb to Dari La Pass, gently ascending through alpine meadows and rocky terrain. The walk provides breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks and valleys, with the occasional glimpse of wildlife. As you ascend, the air becomes crisp and invigorating. Arrive at the pass in the afternoon and pitch up camp at a magnificent vantage point. Enjoy a calm evening beneath the open sky, surrounded by towering mountains and untouched wilderness.
Day 05: Trek to Deosai Top

Descend from Dari La Pass and continue walking toward Deosai Top, where you will encounter the huge and magnificent Deosai Plain. The terrain changes to undulating grasslands filled with wildflowers and streams. The hike is modest, with spectacular panoramic views throughout the day. When you reach Deosai Top, set up camp on this high-altitude plateau. Spend the evening admiring the tranquility and distinct beauty of one of the world's highest plains.
Day 06: Explore Deosai Plains

Spend the day touring the spectacular Deosai National Park, also known as the "Land of Giants." This enormous plateau supports a broad range of species, including Himalayan brown bears, marmots, and golden eagles. Walk over its broad meadows, see local streams and lakes, and take in the breathtaking views of distant snow-capped peaks. This day is the highlight of the journey due to its tranquil environment and undisturbed natural beauty.
Day 07: Drive to Skardu
On this Day
After breakfast, start your journey back to Skardu by driving across the Deosai Plains and down into the valley. The trip provides continuous stunning vistas, with possible breaks at lovely sites such as Sheosar Lake. As you leave the high plateau, the landscape gradually changes back to harsh mountains and river valleys. Arrive at Skardu in the evening and check into your hotel for a relaxing and pleasant night's rest after your journey.
Day 08: Explore Skardu

Spend the day exploring Skardu's cultural and natural treasures. Visit the old Skardu Fort, which provides panoramic views of the valley, and take a stroll around the bustling local market. You can also visit surrounding lakes like Shangrila or have a stroll along the Indus River. This day allows you to relax, reflect on your trekking adventure, and immerse yourself in local culture and hospitality.
Day 09: Fly to Islamabad
On this Day
Board your return flight from Skardu to Islamabad, where you can enjoy amazing airborne views of the Himalayan ranges if the weather permits. When you arrive in Islamabad, get transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for leisure, last-minute shopping, or visiting the capital at your own pace. This signals the conclusion of your mountain trip and provides a smooth transition back to metropolitan life.
Day 10: Fly to home country
On this Day
After breakfast, travel to the airport for your international departure. As you depart Pakistan, take with you memorable memories of the Dari La Pass hike, the great grandeur of Deosai, and the warm friendliness of the locals. The voyage ends with a sense of success and a deep appreciation for the magnificent sights you've seen throughout this incredible excursion.
Why Register Early?
1. Early Bird Discount: The given prices for the holiday are limited-time discount offers and are subject to change. Service providers including (but not limited) to airlines and hotels increase prices in peak-season. Early reservations cost less than peak-season.
2. Limited Flight Seats: Domestic flight seats to the Karakorams and Himalayas are sold out way ahead of time because there are only two daily flights during peak season. Among other things, the deposit is used to book domestic flights for you in advance.
3. Pay Balance after arrival in Pakistan: In these unusual times, we appreciate that paying the final balance for your trip may cause concern. Our policy is to only receive your final balance once you arrive in Pakistan. The only payment before arrival is the deposit.
4. Deposit valid for 3 years: We understand the uncertainty surrounding the pandemic (Covid-19). As part of our relaxed booking conditions following Covid-19, deposits are valid for 2 years.
6. Pay Minimum Deposit: The deposits for the holiday are also early-bird discounts and automatically change accordingly:

Refund Policy for All
Deposit: Once paid, the deposit is non-refundable (but valid for 2 years) as it will be spent on making in-country arrangements.
Balance: Pay the balance only after arrival in Pakistan on the first day. Payment guidelines will be shared timely.
Currency
All international travelers can pay in US Dollars (USD) or equivalent in Euros (EUR) or Pound Sterling (GBP). Pakistani travelers are charged the equivalent in Pakistani Rupees (PKR).
Single Supplement
Separate hotel rooms (single supplement) will cost an additional USD 290. This includes all hotel nights. This payment should be made with the balance upon arrival.
Separate tents (single tent) will cost an additional USD 180. This includes the cost of additional porterage. This payment should also be made with the balance in Pakistan.
