Day 04: Trek to Agurtsab Dar
On this Day
The trail begins with an ascent along the eastern slopes above Hinarche Glacier before gently descending to the Burche Glacier's outwash stream. After crossing a footbridge, the walk continues through Sat village, where green meadows and trees border the valley. Moving on, the trail passes through glacier terrain and woodland roads before opening up into high fields beneath the towering Miar hills. After leaving Gargoh, the road progressively ascends to Agurtsab Dar, a picturesque high camp with fresh water and tranquil environs.
Day 05: Trek to Bualtar Saddle Base
On this Day
The trek from Agurtsab Dar continues further into harsh alpine terrain, gradually ascending to the base camp at Bualtar Saddle. The trail passes through moraines, rocky slopes, and occasional snow patches, providing increasingly stunning views of the surrounding peaks and glaciers. As the foliage thins, the terrain morphs into a stark but spectacular high-altitude scene. When trekkers arrive at base camp, they settle in and prepare for the difficult climb ahead, all while taking in the breathtaking mountain views.
Day 06–08: Bualtar Saddle Climb
On this Day
These important days are dedicated to ascending Bualtar Saddle, which requires constant climbing across steep snow slopes, loose scree, and glacier parts. Trekkers cross tough terrain under the supervision of professional guides, steadily ascending while acclimating to the altitude. Climbers can enjoy stunning panoramic views of the Karakoram mountains from the saddle's crest. After reaching the saddle, the descent continues slowly into the Hopar side, navigating difficult terrain while maintaining safety and good pacing throughout.
Day 09: Descent to Hopar Side Camp
On this Day
After crossing the saddle, the fall continues to the Hopar side, where the terrain remains rough but becomes less technical. The route crosses glaciers, rocky slopes, and moraine fields, necessitating careful footing. As elevation drops, the terrain softens gradually, providing different vistas from the Bagrot side. Camp is placed in an appropriate spot, allowing trekkers to relax and recover after the strenuous crossing of the Bualtar Saddle.
Day 10: Trek to Hopar Glacier (Lower Glacier)
On this Day
The adventure continues with a trek into the lower regions of Hopar Glacier, where the landscape becomes wider and more stunning. Trekkers cross glacier surfaces, ice formations, and rocky trails while taking in vistas of the surrounding peaks. The camp is located near the lower glacier, allowing you to rest and admire the unique glacial environment.
