Fairy Meadows Trek 2024-25

Fairy Meadows Trek offers an adventure of a lifetime in just 5 days. It offers a drive along Indus River, a small hike, a view of Nanga Parbat (8126m), clear view of stars and short hikes in to meadows through small valleys of diamer district. Fairy Meadows Trek starts with a jeep ride from Raikot Bridge to Tatu Village. The first stop of the trek is Chilas, a city located in the region of Gilgit-Baltistan.

There are three ways to reach Chilas for the Fairy Meadows Trek, the first one and most feasible in terms of exploring scenic beauty is via NaranKaghan. It takes about 10-12 hrs to reach Chilas via Naran-Kaghan and Babusar Top. Second option is via Karakoram Highway. Babusar Top is closed due to heavy snowfall in winters from November to May, so the alternate route that adventurer’s take is via Karakoram Highway through Mansehra, Besham and Kohistan region. This route take about 14-16 hours from Islamabad. Third option is to take a one hour flight from Islamabad to Gilgit and a 2-3 hour drive to Chilas by road.

The best time to do this trek is from April-September, the greenery of the meadows with snow on the top of the mountains takes you close to nature, away from hectic urban life. Any health person can do this trek, it is an easy, short and perfect for beginners. This trek also offers a lot of adventure. The jeep track from Raikot Bridge to Tatu village is one of the most dangerous jeep tracks in the world, yet the local jeep driver will drive like a walk in the park.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival of the Fairy Meadows Trek Participants

Tour guide along with the driver for the trip will pick the participants up from the airport. After airport transfer, Participants will check in to the hotel and they will have time to refresh and get ready for a quick city of the beautiful city of Islamabad. The international flights to Islamabad are mostly in morning time so our guests will have a whole day to explore and enjoy. City tour include visits to the Shakarparian, Pakistan Monument, Faisal Mouque and Daman-E-Koh. We will also include a quick city tour of Rawalpindi if the time allows. Participants will have the lunch at the famous Monal Restaurant in Islamabad and Dinner at the hotel.

Day 2: Departure for the Fairy Meadows Trek

The route for the Fairy Meadows Trek would have been be decided before the trek. Flights operating to Gilgit are subject to weather so the suitable option is via Karakoram Highway, driving along Indus River. The drive through begins from Taxila, Haripur, Mansehra, Besham and Kohistan. We will have lunch after reachingBesham.Participants should expect a lot of road travelling this day as the roads are bumpy and mountainous. It will take about about 14-16 hours to reach chilas. Dinner will be served ath the Chilas hotel.

Day 3: Fairy Meadows Jeep ride and the Fairy Meadows Trek

The participants will have to leave for the Fairy Meadows Trek early in the morning. The distance between Raikot Bridge and Chilas City is about one hour. Participants will take jeeps at Raikot for jeep track to tatu village. Participants can make the videos of the jeep ride to the village as it amazes a lot of foreign and local tourists. Jeep track will end at tatu village and the participants will have to hike for 3-4 hours towards the meadows. Once the participants reach the fairy meadows, they will feel fresh and tiring faces will turn in to fresh faces. Participants will stay camps for the night stay.

Day 4: Full day at Fairy Meadows

Breakfast will be served in the camps, on this day of the Fairy Meadows Trek participants can have some alone time, they have the option to spend whole day in the camp or they can take explore the meadows by doing short hike. They can also interact with locals, fill in travel diaries, paint, draw sketch or take photographs.to themselves after a long walk on the previous day. Stars Gazing at night, Sunrise and sunsets in the meadows are amazing. Lunch and dinner will served in the camps. Night stay is also in camps.

Day 5: Final Day of Fairy Meadows Trek

We will leave the camps early in the morning and hike down towards tatu village. A jeep ride back to Raikot Bridge. We will then drive to Karimabad, Hunza Valley. We will be passing through Danyore and will have a short stay for tea at rakaposhi view point. If we get time, we can go for an evening walk in around karimabadbaazar.Stay will be at Karimabad (Baltit Inn – Serena Hotels).

Day 6: Trek to Tour (Hunza Valley)

After having breakfast at the hotel, we will visit to and presentation inside Baltit Fort (more than 900 years old) in Karimabad. Then, on the same day we will have a tripand presentation inside Altit Fort (more than 700 years old). Participants can enjoy a walk of Royal Gardens of the Altit Fort. In the evening time participants can enjoy the sunset at the Eagle’s Nest View Point. It is the highest view point of Hunza Valley. Stay will be at Karimabad (Baltit Inn – Serena Hotels).

Day 7: Visit to Khunjerab Top

After having early breakfast at the hotel, We will depart for Pak-China Border which is one of the highest road border in the world. On this day we will be covering Ganish Bridge, Attabad Lake, Pak-China friendship tunnels, have a view of PassuCatheral, we will be passing through Batura Glacier and Wildlife Conservation Area in Khyber. If we get lucky we can experience a view of wildlife habitats i.e. ibex, snow leopards and marmots. One can witness the snow in summers and interact with Chinese tourists. We will drive back to Karimabad. Night stay in Karimabad (Baltit Inn – Serena Hotels)

Day 8: Visit to Nagar Valley

Nagar Valley is adjacent to Hunza Valley. It is as beautiful as Hunza Valley. Participants will be taken to Hooper Glacier View Point in Nagar Valley. Participants can also have ample amount of time to relax and shop around Karimabad. Participants can have local dishes, local street food especially walnut cake of Hunza is must. Night stay in Karimabad (Baltit Inn – Serena Hotels)

Day 9: Drive Back to Chilas

We will drive back to Chilas for the night stay. We will be driving along KKH.
*If Babusar Top is open we will opt forNaran for the stay on Day 8.

Day 10: Islamabad

Departure for Islamabad and drop at the Hotel.
