Itinerary – Astore Valley Tour (08 Days)

The itinerary for the tour is given below.

On this Day

Travel by four-wheel-drive vehicle to Rama Valley, traveling through forested slopes and scattered mountain hamlets. Explore Rama Meadows, which is famed for its pine, cedar, and juniper woodland, and then continue along the rugged trail to Rama Lake. Complete the remaining section on foot where the road conditions dictate it. After admiring the alpine lake and surrounding ridges, return through Astore and enter Perishing Valley to see Gotamsar and the unique landscape feature known as Allah Wali Jheel.

On this Day

Drive from Astore to Ratu through a lovely side valley formed by streams, woodlands, villages, and seasonal pastures. Before venturing farther into Dirlay Valley, explore Ratu's town and the surrounding mountain landscape. Dirlay Lake is accessible by the available jeep track and brief walking sections, depending on road conditions. Spend enough time alongside its pure blue ocean and unique serpentine beach. Return through Ratu after finishing one of Astore's less-developed yet excellent lake tours.

On this Day

Leave Astore for Tarishing via Gorikot and the upper valley towns. Enter Rupal Valley, which lies beneath the massive southern slopes of Nanga Parbat and offers varying vistas of glaciers, cliffs, cultivated fields, and traditional dwellings. Explore Tarishing hamlet and the neighboring vistas that offer stunning views of the Rupal Face. A short walk around the valley floor is an option instead of trying the entire base-camp hike. Return to Astore after exploring this lonely mountain village and its breathtaking environs.

On this Day

Depart Astore by the eastern valley road through Gorikot and Gudai, following mountain streams and spreading fields to Kala Pani. Explore the dark water channels, broad meadows, and steep mountains before heading to Chilam, the junction of Deosai and Minimarg. After completing the requisite local registration, take the old Burzil route via Burzil Pass. Descend to Minimarg via remote grazing areas and settle in the designated visitor zone, which is flanked by forests, streams, and alpine meadows.

On this Day

Continue from Minimarg to Domail via the approved mountain corridor in a capable four-wheel-drive vehicle. Explore Domel's expansive meadows, forested slopes, streams, and the renowned Rainbow Lake, whose waters mirror the surrounding vegetation and high mountains. Allow for walking where the track becomes unsuitable, then retrace the trip via Minimarg and Burzil Pass. Return to Chilam for the night, having completed the easternmost leg of the entire Astore Valley circuit before crossing the Deosai Plateau.

On this Day

Depart Chilam through the Astore entrance to Deosai National Park and rise to the beautiful high-altitude plateau. Visit the breathtaking Sheosar Lake, explore the huge grasslands, and look for marmots and other protected creatures in their natural habitat. Continue through Deosai, passing stunning vistas, streams, and alpine panoramas before descending into Astore. From Astore, proceed along the Karakoram Highway to Gilgit, taking in the changing alpine views. Arrive in Gilgit, check into your hotel, and unwind after an incredible journey through one of Pakistan's most breathtaking high-altitude regions.

On this Day

Transfer to Gilgit Airport and take the return flight to Islamabad, pending suitable weather conditions and confirmed airline operations. If the weather permits, take in stunning aerial views of the Karakoram and Himalayan mountain ranges, the Indus Valley, and neighboring peaks during the journey. Upon arrival in Islamabad, your amazing Astore Valley Tour comes to an end.
