The Hayal Pass Trek (4,700m) is a hidden gem in northern Pakistan, with breathtaking alpine scenery. It connects the gorgeous Naltar Valley with the secluded Ishkoman Valley. Furthermore, the route includes forests, lakes, and steep mountain passes. Trekkers can enjoy a variety of vistas as the trail gradually climbs. Itinerary – Hayal Pass Trek – 10 days

The itinerary for the trek is listed below.

On this Day

Early morning scenic flights to Gilgit provide stunning aerial views of the Karakoram and Himalayan mountains, including sightings of Nanga Parbat. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel and spend the day adjusting to the altitude. It is feasible to take short walks about town and visit local bazaars. The final preparations for the hike, including equipment checks and packing, will be finished in the evening.

On this Day

After breakfast, you'll drive from Gilgit to the scenic Naltar Valley, which is famed for its thick pine woods and bright scenery. The jeep track provides an interesting trip over rugged terrain and spectacular mountain views. Upon arrival, you will explore the valley, mingle with people, and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. This day allows for additional acclimatization before the hike begins, and you will spend the night in a nice camp or hotel.

On this Day

The first day of trekking begins with an easy and pleasurable stroll along the Naltar River. The trail winds through lush pine forests, providing shade and shelter in case of rain. The tranquil surroundings and rushing river provide a relaxing trekking experience. After around four hours, you'll arrive at Naltar Lake, which is noted for its clean waters and trout fish. Camp will be put up beside the lake, where you may rest and enjoy the peaceful alpine atmosphere overnight.

On this Day

The walk continues with a gentle ascent to Lower Shani, which takes approximately four hours across a gorgeous alpine landscape. After a little pause, you will begin a tougher one-hour ascent to Upper Shani. As you ascend, the environment opens up to spectacular high-altitude vistas of the surrounding peaks and valleys. Upon arrival, the staff will pitch your camp in a beautiful area, allowing you to relax and enjoy the distant mountain environment beneath the stars.

This is the most difficult and rewarding day of the walk, as you cross Hayal Pass at an elevation of 4,700 meters. The ascent is gradual and difficult, necessitating stamina and cautious pacing. Upon reaching the summit, you are greeted with stunning panoramic vistas of snow-capped peaks and huge valleys. After spending some time at the pass, you will descend somewhat and sleep nearby, surrounded by the raw splendor of high-altitude wilderness.

On this Day

This day includes an easy and enjoyable downhill hike into Pakora Valley in the Ishkoman region. The trail gradually descends via various sceneries, ranging from severe high-altitude terrain to verdant valley environs. As you approach the village of Pakora, you will discover traces of local activity and farmland. The walk culminates with an overnight stay in the hamlet, where you may enjoy the local friendliness and culture.

On this Day

After breakfast, you will leave Pakora Valley and drive back to Gilgit. The journey follows gorgeous mountain routes along rivers and through tiny communities, providing opportunities for reflection on the trekking experience. Upon arrival in Gilgit, you will check into your accommodation and enjoy the city's amenities. The remainder of the day is free for relaxing, souvenir shopping, or visiting local markets and cultural places.

On this Day

You'll fly back to Islamabad in the morning, experiencing amazing aerial views of the northern mountain ranges. When you arrive, you will be transported to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for leisure activities such as exploring historical sites, shopping, or dining in the city. This day also provides a buffer in the event of flight delays due to weather in the northern regions.

On this Day

On the final day, you will be taken to the airport for your international departure. Depending on your travel schedule, you may have time for some last-minute shopping or relaxing at the hotel. As your journey comes to an end, you will have lasting memories of the Hayal Pass trek, including its breathtaking scenery, tough paths, and cultural experiences. The trip provides an ideal balance of adventure and natural beauty, making it an unforgettable trek in northern Pakistan.

 

Why Register Early?

1. Early Bird Discount: The given prices for the holiday are limited-time discount offers and are subject to change. Service providers including (but not limited) to airlines and hotels increase prices in peak-season. Early reservations cost less than peak-season. 

2. Limited Flight Seats: Domestic flight seats to the Karakorams and Himalayas are sold out way ahead of time because there are only two daily flights during peak season. Among other things, the deposit is used to book domestic flights for you in advance.

3. Pay Balance after arrival in Pakistan: In these unusual times, we appreciate that paying the final balance for your trip may cause concern. Our policy is to only receive your final balance once you arrive in Pakistan. The only payment before arrival is the deposit.

4. Deposit valid for 3 years: We understand the uncertainty surrounding the pandemic (Covid-19). As part of our relaxed booking conditions following Covid-19, deposits are valid for 2 years. 

6. Pay Minimum Deposit: The deposits for the holiday are also early-bird discounts and automatically change accordingly:

  • 1st October: USD 190
  • 1st November: USD 290
  • 1st January: USD 350
  • 15th February: USD 400
  • 1st March: USD 450
  • 1st May: USD 490

Refund Policy for All

Deposit: Once paid, the deposit is non-refundable (but valid for 2 years) as it will be spent on making in-country arrangements. 

Balance: Pay the balance only after arrival in Pakistan on the first day. Payment guidelines will be shared timely.

Currency

All international travelers can pay in US Dollars (USD) or equivalent in Euros (EUR) or Pound Sterling (GBP). Pakistani travelers are charged the equivalent in Pakistani Rupees (PKR).

Single Supplement

Separate hotel rooms (single supplement) will cost an additional USD 290. This includes all hotel nights. This payment should be made with the balance upon arrival.

Separate tents (single tent) will cost an additional USD 180. This includes the cost of additional porterage. This payment should also be made with the balance in Pakistan.
