Overview – Khanbari Valley Tour (Diamer)
The Khanbari Valley Tour (Diamer) is a wonderful excursion through one of Gilgit-Baltistan’s lesser-known areas. Khanbari is located in Darel, Diamer District, and is bordered by rocky mountains, river scenery, farmed fields, and traditional towns. Furthermore, the ride from Chilas offers further spectacular views along the Karakoram Highway and the Indus River valley. Travelers entering Darel will encounter narrower valleys, mountain streams, pleasant rural scenery, and varying vistas across the mountains. As a result, this journey is ideal for those seeking scenery, culture, and destinations outside of the region’s typical tourist routes.
The tour allows guests to explore hamlet settings, agricultural terraces, streams, and spectacular hills. Meanwhile, the greater Darel area reflects Diamer’s unique customs and natural character. The valley also provides good opportunity for photography, beautiful breaks, and peaceful exploration away from congested areas. Furthermore, its distant location fosters a greater connection with the surrounding landscapes and daily mountain life. Khanbari is relatively undeveloped for popular tourism, so the experience feels real and uncrowded. Overall, this day tour from Chilas mixes adventure, cultural discovery, and scenery in a little-known area of Diamer.
