Itinerary – Tarishing Village & Rupal Valley Tour (6 Days)

Day 02: Journey to Tarishing Village
On this Day
Leave Chilas and take the Karakoram Highway along the Indus River to Jaglot. Turn onto the Astore Valley road and drive through mountain villages, terraced terraces, and tiny river gorges. After arriving at Astore, transfer to a suitable four-wheel-drive vehicle for the difficult road to Tarishing. Arrive in the settlement beneath the Nanga Parbat massif, check into a guesthouse, and enjoy the views of the surrounding peaks, fields, and glaciers. Tarishing is where you'll stay overnight.
Day 03: Rupal Valley Excursion
On this Day
Begin the guided hike from Tarishing to Rupal Valley, traversing village pathways, glacial terrain, streams, and open mountain slopes. Cross the Tarishing Glacier area carefully, following local directions, and then continue toward Rupal settlement. Explore the calm town, agricultural fields, and vistas beneath Nanga Parbat's towering southern slope. After taking in the valley landscape and photographing Chongra Peak and neighboring ridges, return to Tarishing by the same trail. Overnight in Tarishing.
Day 04: Explore Tarishing Village - Astore
On this Day
Spend another day exploring Tarishing Village and its breathtaking Himalayan landscape. Walk through historic roads, cultivated fields, river channels, and local neighborhoods to learn about life in this secluded area of Astore. Visit accessible sites around the glacier and Rupal River, which offer expansive views of Chongra Peak and the Nanga Parbat massif. Later, travel back down the mountain route to Astore and check into your accommodation. Overnight stay in Astore.
Day 05: Journey to Naran
On this Day
Depart Astore and follow the Astore River until Jaglot, where you will find the Karakoram Highway. Continue south via the Indus Valley to Chilas, then climb to Babusar Pass once the seasonal road is open and safe. Cross the high pass into the Kaghan Valley and continue through the alpine beauty to Naran. Several brief pauses for photographs and refreshments can be planned along the way. Check into the hotel as you arrive. Overnight stay in Naran.
Day 06: Drive to Islamabad
On this Day
Leave Naran and go through the beautiful Kaghan Valley, passing through Batakundi, Kaghan, Balakot, and Mansehra. Follow the Hazara Road into Islamabad, taking in river views, forested slopes, wayside towns, and varied mountain landscapes. Suitable comfort stops will be scheduled during the route. Continue toward Islamabad, where the Tarishing hamlet and Rupal Valley Tour concludes with magnificent views of Nanga Parbat, Tarishing Glacier, Rupal hamlet, and the surrounding Astore region.
