The itinerary for the trek is listed below.
Day 02: Drive to Tangir Valley and Kuranga
On this Day
The journey continues from Chilas to Tangir Valley, along mountain routes into one of the Indus's isolated tributary valleys. The road eventually leaves the main highway and reaches a more tranquil scenery of villages, fields, side streams, and steep mountains. Upon arriving in Tangir, the team interacts with local support personnel, inspects equipment, and confirms porter arrangements. The day concludes with a stay in Kuranga or a good nearby hamlet.
Day 03: Trek from Kuranga to Subading
On this Day
The walk begins in Kuranga, a historic Tangir-side village noted on the old Kandia-Tangir route. The trail traverses the Meychar Nala area, passing through forested sections, grazing pockets, and scattered summer-use areas. The walking is steady but not at high altitude, allowing the party to adjust to the distant area. Camp is created near Subading, the highest possible camping location before crossing into the Guper Pass region.
Day 04: Cross Guper Pass
On this Day
This is the main pass-crossing stage on the Guper Pass Trek. The trail ascends from Subading to the stony top of Guper Pass, which is historically recorded at 14,500 feet and characterized as having no permanent snow or glacier. Because the area is remote and exposed, the ascent must be done at a deliberate pace. After crossing the pass, the trail descends through alpine slopes and grazing plains to Gutti. The camp is located near Gutti, where water and open land are available.
Day 05: Trek from Gutti to Deri

The path continues from Gutti to Deri via a historic pony trail through forest, open ground, and alpine pastures. This stage is easier than the previous day, albeit the remoteness demands cautious route finding and local guidance. The group progressively descends into greener terrain, offering views of side valleys and seasonal grazing regions. Camp is set up near Deri, a traditional halt on the Kandia side of the route.
Day 06: Trek to Gabrial, Kandia Valley

The walk descends from Deri to Gabrial in Kandia Valley, completing the traditional mountain route between Tangir and Upper Kohistan. The trail gets more settled as it approaches the lower valley through forest, grazing slopes, and scattered habitations. The arrival in Gabrial marks the end of the core trekking route. The team meets the roadhead or local transport support and then travels to a suitable village, stays, or camps in Kandia Valley.
Day 07: Rest and Exploration in Kandia Valley
On this Day
This day is reserved in Kandia Valley for rest, local exploration, and emergencies. Following the high road, the valley provides a tranquil cultural contrast with terraced fields, side streams, wooded hills, and traditional mountain communities. Before leaving the valley, the party can tour adjacent towns, mingle with locals, and reorganize their trekking gear. This buffer also helps to manage delays caused by weather, stream crossings, road conditions, or porter transit across the pass.
Day 08: Drive to Besham
On this Day
The drive continues along the Karakoram Highway to Besham or another convenient transit stop on the way to Islamabad. The Indus River is a constant companion as the scenery transitions from the high Kohistan lowlands to the low mountain region. This day marks a gradual return to road-accessible settlements following several days of distant trekking. The group can assess the trek, clean equipment, repack packs, and prepare for the final trip back to Islamabad.
Day 09: Return to Islamabad
On this Day
The final drive via the Karakoram Highway and the Hazara Road back to Islamabad. As the expedition returns to the city, the scenery transitions from tiny river gorges to broader valleys, towns, and plains. The Guper Pass Trek culminates upon arrival, having connected Tangir with Kandia Valley via Kuranga, Subading, Gutti, Deri, and Gabrial.
Why Register Early?
1. Early Bird Discount: The given prices for the holiday are limited-time discount offers and are subject to change. Service providers including (but not limited) to airlines and hotels increase prices in peak-season. Early reservations cost less than peak-season.
2. Limited Flight Seats: Domestic flight seats to the Karakorams and Himalayas are sold out way ahead of time because there are only two daily flights during peak season. Among other things, the deposit is used to book domestic flights for you in advance.
3. Pay Balance after arrival in Pakistan: In these unusual times, we appreciate that paying the final balance for your trip may cause concern. Our policy is to only receive your final balance once you arrive in Pakistan. The only payment before arrival is the deposit.
4. Deposit valid for 3 years: We understand the uncertainty surrounding the pandemic (Covid-19). As part of our relaxed booking conditions following Covid-19, deposits are valid for 2 years.

Refund Policy for All
Deposit: Once paid, the deposit is non-refundable (but valid for 2 years) as it will be spent on making in-country arrangements.
Balance: Pay the balance only after arrival in Pakistan on the first day. Payment guidelines will be shared timely.
Currency
All international travelers can pay in US Dollars (USD) or equivalent in Euros (EUR) or Pound Sterling (GBP). Pakistani travelers are charged the equivalent in Pakistani Rupees (PKR).
Single Supplement
Separate hotel rooms (single supplement) will cost an additional USD 290. This includes all hotel nights. This payment should be made with the balance upon arrival.
Separate tents (single tent) will cost an additional USD 180. This includes the cost of additional porterage. This payment should also be made with the balance in Pakistan.
