Day 01: Karimabad – Passu Glacier Trek – Karimabad
Depart Karimabad and travel over the legendary Karakoram Highway through Upper Hunza, passing by the picturesque Attabad Lake and the settlements of Gulmit and Passu, with the stunning Passu Cones dominating the scene. Continue to Passu Hamlet, where the journey begins. From Passu, take a short stretch of highway before turning onto a dirt lane that runs alongside the former glacial lakebed. Continue on foot toward Passu Glacier’s lower reaches, taking in the glacier ice, moraine structures, surrounding peaks, and the stunning Hunza Valley panorama. When you arrive at a safe position viewing the glacier, spend some time investigating and photographing the surroundings. After that, return to Passu hamlet and proceed to Karimabad via the Karakoram Highway.
