Day 01: Full-Day Excursion to Ondra Poygah in Gulmit
Depart Karimabad and travel over the Karakoram Highway to Gulmit in Upper Hunza, passing Attabad Lake and spectacular mountain views. When you get to Gulmit, proceed through the ancient hamlet to the Gulmit Polo Ground, where the Ondra Poygah route begins. Climb the community-built stone stairway to the remnants of historic Ondra Fort, which offers expansive views of Gulmit and the Hunza River. From the higher perspective, you can see Attabad Lake, Passu Cones, Gulmit Tower, Ghulkin, and the surrounding Karakoram ranges. Before descending, explore the fort remnants and take some photos. Rejoin the van in Gulmit and return to Karimabad.
