Overview – Phuparash Gah & Raijuk Meadows Trek
The Phuparash Gah & Raijuk Meadows Trek (Haramosh) is a three-day wilderness excursion across Gilgit-Baltistan’s stunning Karakoram scenery. The route begins in Gilgit City and takes the Gilgit-Skardu Road to Sassi. From there, a difficult jeep track leads to Dasso, a well-known trailhead in the larger Haramosh trekking region. Trekkers then take the quieter Phuparash Gah path, traversing through steep slopes, woods, streams, and glacier landscape. As a result, each stage displays different terrain and a strong sense of remoteness. The adjacent Haramosh Mountains provide a stunning backdrop for photography, camping, and nature exploration.
Furthermore, the trail continues to Raijuk Meadows, where verdant alpine terrain contrasts attractively with the desolate moraine below. Visitors can enjoy calm camping, fresh mountain air, seasonal wildflowers, and panoramic views of adjacent ridges. Because this route is sparsely recorded, an experienced local guide is required for navigation and stream crossings. Weather and glacier flow can also affect the safest route between Phuparash Gah and Raijuk Meadows. As a result, travelers should pack appropriate trekking equipment and be prepared to adapt to changing conditions. Overall, this Haramosh trip is ideal for ambitious hikers seeking solitude, real scenery, and a lesser-known experience near Gilgit.
