Day 02: Trek to Darakush Camp
On this Day
Begin the hike from Jaglot and traverse the steep Gouro Nala Valley to Darakush. The trail progressively ascends across barren slopes, narrow valley portions, streams, and scattered grazing meadows. Continue steadily while admiring the various vistas of the nearby Karakoram ridges. Upon arrival at Darakush, set up camp, rest, hydrate, and eat an early dinner while carefully adjusting to the huge elevation gain.
Day 03: Trek to Rakaposhi Base Camp (South West Face)
On this Day
After breakfast, leave Darakush and head to Rakaposhi Base Camp beneath the mountain's southwest face. The terrain gets wilder, with loose moraine, glacier debris, rocky traverses, and potential stream crossings. Move slowly with your guides as the massive Rakaposhi massif rises ahead. When you arrive at the base camp area near the Kunti Glacier, set up your camp and enjoy the surrounding overlooks. Spend the evening surrounded by breathtaking ice formations, steep ridges, and the high Karakoram wilderness.
Day 04: Return Trek to Darakush camp
On this Day
After breakfast, take in the final views of Rakaposhi's southwest face before starting the return trip. Retrace your steps past moraines, rugged terrain, and exposed valley portions, gradually descending toward Darakush. Regular stops provide opportunities for photography and safer walking over difficult terrain. Arrive at the Darakush campsite early afternoon, then relax for a well-deserved break. The lower altitude provides more comfort following the previous night near the glacier and mountain base.
Day 05: Return to Jaglot – Gilgit City
On this Day
After breakfast, break camp and descend from Darakush to Gouro Nala Valley to Jaglot. Before arriving at the roadhead, carefully follow the well-worn track, crossing creeks and navigating rough areas. After meeting the car at Jaglot, follow the Karakoram Highway back to Gilgit. The voyage ends with various views of the Indus corridor and the surrounding mountains. Arrive at Gilgit by the evening, marking the end of our distant Rakaposhi trekking adventure.
Why Register Early?
1. Early Bird Discount: The given prices for the holiday are limited-time discount offers and are subject to change. Service providers including (but not limited) to airlines and hotels increase prices in peak-season. Early reservations cost less than peak-season.
2. Limited Flight Seats: Domestic flight seats to the Karakorams and Himalayas are sold out way ahead of time because there are only two daily flights during peak season. Among other things, the deposit is used to book domestic flights for you in advance.
3. Pay Balance after arrival in Pakistan: In these unusual times, we appreciate that paying the final balance for your trip may cause concern. Our policy is to only receive your final balance once you arrive in Pakistan. The only payment before arrival is the deposit.
4. Deposit valid for 3 years: We understand the uncertainty surrounding the pandemic (Covid-19). As part of our relaxed booking conditions following Covid-19, deposits are valid for 2 years.
6. Pay Minimum Deposit: The deposits for the holiday are also early-bird discounts and automatically change accordingly:

Refund Policy for All
Deposit: Once paid, the deposit is non-refundable (but valid for 2 years) as it will be spent on making in-country arrangements.
Balance: Pay the balance only after arrival in Pakistan on the first day. Payment guidelines will be shared timely.
Currency
All international travelers can pay in US Dollars (USD) or equivalent in Euros (EUR) or Pound Sterling (GBP). Pakistani travelers are charged the equivalent in Pakistani Rupees (PKR).
Single Supplement
Separate hotel rooms (single supplement) will cost an additional USD 290. This includes all hotel nights. This payment should be made with the balance upon arrival.
Separate tents (single tent) will cost an additional USD 180. This includes the cost of additional porterage. This payment should also be made with the balance in Pakistan.

Overview
The Rakaposhi Base Camp Trek (South West Face) – Jaglot Gouro Nala Valley takes you from Gilgit to the isolated Karakoram Mountains. First, the path passes through Jaglot before entering the mountainous Gouro Nala and Jaglot Nullah drainage. The trail then ascends through dry hills, pine-covered clearings, stony valleys, and high alpine territory. Moreover, trekkers reach the Kunti Glacier beneath Rakaposhi’s massive southwest ridge. Rakaposhi, at 7,788 metres, towers over the surrounding countryside. As a result, this path is best suited to experienced trekkers looking for isolation, wildness, and a historical mountaineering landscape.
Aside from its natural splendor, the walk follows a route associated with Rakaposhi’s early climbing efforts. British crews examined the southwest side before Mike Banks and Tom Patey made the first climb in 1958. Along the trip, various perspectives reveal glaciers, steep slopes, snowfields, and spectacular valley walls. However, tough terrain, fast elevation gain, and unpredictable weather make the journey more difficult. As a result, local guides, porters, appropriate acclimatization, and dependable camping equipment remain important. Overall, this five-day walk is a challenging excursion to one of Pakistan’s most spectacular mountain faces. It also provides breathtaking photography, tranquil campgrounds, and a strong sense of Karakoram exploration.
