Day 01: Karimabad – Hunza Water Channel Hike – Duikar
Begin your hike at Karimabad by following one of Hunza’s historic irrigation channels, which transport water from Ultar Nala past orchards and terraced farms. The easy channel-side walk provides close-up views of village life, stone buildings, fruit trees, and the nearby Karakoram ranges. Continue along local paths to the top slopes above Karimabad, steadily ascending as the trail nears Duikar. Take breaks along the way to see the views of the Hunza Valley. The final stretch is steeper before reaching Duikar and the Eagle’s Nest viewpoint. Before returning to Karimabad, take in the panoramic views of the Hunza and Nagar valleys, which include Rakaposhi, Ultar Sar, Diran Peak, and other neighboring mountains.
